How does menopause affect your body and emotions?

Menopause is a natural part of life and affects millions of women around the world. A few years ago, I had a conversation with a woman who recently entered menopause.

She was hit extremely hard because her hormones were entirely imbalanced and she fell into a deep depression. It wasn’t until she adopted a plant based lifestyle and started to drink natural juices and consume herbal teas that she started to feel like herself again.

Other symptoms of menopause also include hot flashes, a phenonenom where you will all of a sudden feel extremely hot. On top of this, some women may also experience a lowered libido.

It may seem as though menopause is a punishment. However, it is a natural phase of life and can be dealt with and adjusted naturally as well. To any woman reading this, just know you are not alone!

Fruits & Vegetables good for menopause

There are prescription pills that some women can take to help balance hormones and reduce the severity of hot flashes. However, there are also many fruits and vegetables that also help a woman during this period of her life.

Here are some fruits and vegetables that help ease menopause symptoms.

Leafy greens- Like kale, dandelion, spinach, watercress, or even collard greens

Nuts & Seeds- Like sunflower seeds or walnuts

Fruit- Like mango, papaya, grapefruit, apples, all the good stuff

Berries- Like strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries

Plant based yogurts- Made from coconut, almonds, cashews, or any other plant nut milk

Protein- My favorite plant based proteins are: chickpeas, lentils (any color), quinoa, black beans, butter beans, and red beans.

Whole Grains- Like teff flour, spelt flour, or chickpea flour.

Recommended Juice- Menopause Juice Recipe

I make all of my juices with one of the best slow coldpress juicers in the world, the Kuvings AUTO10. It is a bit pricey but has a generous 15 year warranty and can also make nut milks, sorbet, ice cream, and of course juices.

The pulp produced is also extremely dry which means you get the most out of your money. When I had a cheaper high speed juicer, the pulp was extremely wet and I had to run it through several times.

Kuvings also offers other models at affordable prices as well as a monthly payment plan.

Use code ITALEATS for 10% off all Kuvings juicers via this link! Check out the Kuvings USA (or whichever country your location is) website to view other models such as the C7000 and Ev0820.
