I’ve been using green tea hair rinses the past few months to reduce hair shedding, breakage, and help my hair growth and my hair has been THRIVING!

Just want to share love and light as well as what has been working for me<3 Always be sure to do your own research and do a scalp patch test before introducing new routines, much love!
I have medium (down to my collar bone) length 4c hair and this green tea rinse has done absolute WONDERS for reducing hair shedding! Detangling used to have my hair all over the place with me losing an incredibly large amount of hair.
Now, with only 2 minutes extra dded to my wash routine, my breakage and hair shedding has greatly reduced and my hair is the shiniest and strongest it’s ever been.

I have thick, kinky 4c hair that is quite long and my strands used to break off the same rate it was growing. This gave the illusion my hair was at the same length or “just wasn’t growing”.
Now, I wash my hair 1-2 times per week (yes, you read that right!) and use this green tea rinse every time for better length retention.
Not only has my hair gotten so much stronger and shinier, my shedding has been greatly reduced and I feel myself retaining a lot more length than in the past!
The Benefits & How it Works
Green tea (and black tea as well) has caffeine which can help to block the hormone DHT (dihydrotestosterone). This hormone is commonly linked to hair loss and is a common factor in male baldness.
Of course, women can also suffer from alopecia or struggle to grow hair due to previous damage (too much tension, genetics, deficiencies, environmental stress etc) as well.

As mentioned before, the components found in green tea can help to block DHT, which will eventually help to prevent excessive hair shed/loss. Now, on average we lose about 50-100 strands of hair a day, but any women and men can Mose more than the daily average due to the properties mentioned before.
I noticed an extreme difference in hair shedding/loss and shedding after the very first green tea rinse and now I’ve added it in my wash routine for good!

How to make Green Tea Hair Rinse
Step One:
Combine all of the herbs in a HEAT SAFE mason jar with hot water and allow to sit overnight to 24 hours. (The longer it sits, the stronger but don’t let it sit for more than 24 hours!)
Step Two:
Once the tea has steeped and cooled, strain very well and put into a bottle for hair application.
Step Three:
After you’ve shampooed and before you condition, slowly pour the tea rinse into your hair to fully saturate your ends.
Massage the mixture into your scalp for about 1-2 minutes and gently rinse out before allowing your conditioner to sit in for about 5 minutes.
