What is Jamaican Ting?- Grapefruit Soda Recipe

Only the best Caribbean soda EVER! On a more serious note, Jamaican Ting is the name of a grapefruit soda that is loved across the island and abroad. It typically comes in pink or white grapefruit and brings back so much nostalgia.

However, like other sodas around the world, it is filled with white sugar and other preservatives that make me feel so sluggish after drinking it.

This homemade grapefruit soda recipe is the PERFECT replacement for Jamaican Ting. It’s also just super tasty and refreshing on its own. It’s easy to make, and healthy!

Health Benefits of Grapefruit

I personally love grapefruit, but for a lot of people it’s either you love it or hate it. It’s got a citrusy kick similar to lemon. But it’s a tad sweeter and more tangy. Grapefruits are suprisingly loaded with health benefits.

This citrus is packed with vitamin c that may help to boost the body’s immunity, and it also contains a great amount of fiber.

Grapefruit was also reported to possibly help to keep sugar levels in check and may support better digestion for a healthy gut.

Recommended Juicer- Grapefruit Soda

I make all of my juices with one of the best slow coldpress juicers in the world, the Kuvings REVO830 and AUTO10. It is a bit pricey but has a generous 15 year warranty and can also make nut milks, sorbet, ice cream, and of course juices.

The pulp produced is also extremely dry which means you get the most out of your money. When I had a cheaper high speed juicer, the pulp was extremely wet and I had to run it through several times.

Kuvings also offers other models at affordable prices as well as a monthly payment plan.

Use code ITALEATS for 10% off all Kuvings juicers via this link! Check out the Kuvings USA (or whichever country your location is) website to view other models such as the C7000 and Ev0820.

How to store Grapefruit Soda

If you wish to store your grapefruit soda for later, it’s best to separate the ingredients. Store the grapefruit juice and club soda in two different containers.

When you’re ready, simply combine your preferred amount of agave and the rest of the ingredients. Serve over ice and enjoy!
